Self-critic:
I feel that my work is okay.I should draw thicker lines so that my picture will look clearer as well as to emphasis on what i'm drawing.I also feel that i can add more lines or shapes to fill up the empty spaces.Afterall,i am quite please with my work.I'll grade my work a 7/10 :)
Peer-critic:Germaine
I feel that her drawing is very interesting and good. Her drawing techniques are also very good. She manages to express her creativity very well through her drawings. She had put in quite alot of effort too! Thats can be seen by her peers.I'll grade her a 10/10.

self critique:i see a lot of lines and lots of shapes, the image is about chinese culture and my face with it.the image shows rhythm and depth, the image makes me feel happy and it shows chinese culture can be interesting

peer critique:i think ur work's background is a little too light and u should darken it other then that it looks nice

i liked farahin's work as it really shows that she really put in alot of effort by drawing out the elements of art .she adds in more lines and different shapes to make it more nicer and better .
she really likes drawing the flowers as mayb she describes herself as aflower.
hahah !
she even drew out the lines as a background to make herself the main attention .and i find it unique.although there were no stylization done on her face she make use of her background to stylize something,i guesss she really like being with flowers as most of her drawings has atleast afew flowers(:
i feeel that the drawing is really unique as she adds in tme malay culture.this will help by telling people that shes is a malay.it is nice that she does not add both the malay culture and her together as it might get confusing.thus she made use of her background by drawing the malay cultures and she in the middle.i really believed that this drawing is a succes.
she has put in alot of stuff in there to elaborate more on her and her culture.i truly think that farahin's work is equally unique and nice.
she can improve on it by adding more design though (:
anw great effort there :D

self critic
i think that my drawings is not that nice as i did not rally put any effort in there.
i had use the malay culture and a portrait of me to put both things together.
i had not use principles of design that much and if there were any chance to do the same thing i will try adding more things to my drawing.i need to improve on my shading and colouring as there is not much tone if i were to shade,
i will work harder next time !(:

Self Critique:I think that my drawings needs more effort so I can gain more marks.I'll try to put in more effort and creativity to my work if I can change my work.I have not completed my final design so if want complete it I need to use different style of artwork for ihave more work to do.For my final design I will combined my stylisation of my culture with my potrait and shade it so it will hopefully turn out right. If I get 4/10 or less I wouldn't be suprise for the lack of effort and creativity but one thing for sure I'll try to improved fromthe comment given by my other classmate.

Peer Critique:Vivian's drawing is nicely layedout.I can judge it the first time I see it as the drawing shows she push aside her potrait and make her culture drawing stand out of the whole drawing. What caught my eyes were her culture drawing after it has been stylize. Her final drawing shows that she made use of the ART Elements for example line, form and shape. If given ten marks I'll give her 7/10 for her outstanding drawing.

self-critic.
I don't really like my design as it does not have the effects i wanted, cause my drawing is bad. But i like my second self-portrait(stylisation) because i find that the design is quite nice with miss rafidah's help and inspiration. I will try to improve on my shading because i'm weak in that. That was why my design doesn't have any shadings. My design's sketchy, so bear with it(: Will try to change.

Peer's critic-Jacqueline.
Her self-portrait has alot of fragmentations, which is nice and unique, but she'll have to improve on her shading, to make it more like a "fragment" or more real-life(if thats the effect she wants). She needs to draw thicker lines to enhance her drawing, or rather, the main focus on the drawing. It will look much better as she is very careful with what she sketch/draw, which is good! so that she'll not have patches on. No offence,but yeah, overall, her drawing is nice(;

Self-Critique
I have decided to draw my side view of my self-potrait.I decided to choose the side view instead of the front view as i wanted my artwork to be more interesting.I have used pop art in my artwork.I decided to use pop art in my artwork as pop art is something that is unique and interesting.Furthermore i love pop art.I have drawn darken my hair in the artwork to represent the pop art.I drawn my potrait at the side as i want to draw the batik design.I surrounded my potrait with the batik designs, the stylisation of chapteh and wayang kulit. For the potrait i have make half of my lines to be lighten and invisisble.Whereas the other half i have i make the lines darken and shade them darkly.I even shade my lips darkly.I have uses the principles of design such as repetition. The flowers and leaves which are the batik are being repeated and drawn all around the potrait. The batik i have used as the background of my artwork.

Peer Critique[Farhana]

I find that farhana artwork is unique in its own way.She drawn her potrait in her own way.She drawn her potrait at the side and only drawn half of her face. She also fill up the background with her stylisation of malay culture.I also get to see the different designs of her drawings.
Farhana artwork seems too be so thin that she should at least thicken the lines up and add more things and design in her artwork.I bet it will look much more presentable, decorated and interesting.I felt bored but at the same time the artwork look interesting and unique in its own way.Farhana artwork is an original piece. But she must put in more effort in her artwork in order to produce a good one in future. She should also do lots of research and improve on it.She also can use more principles of designs and elements of arts in future.Nice try,Farhana!Put in more effort in future!: D

self critique: I think my drawing is okay.but i need to make my drawing skills better.
It is not that nice.My shading is also not nice as i dont practice it.I'm not that good at art since small.i hope i can get better in drawing. My cultural drawings is also not that nice. The shading is ugly.

(peer critique mutalif):
His self-potrait needs improvement. He needs to concentrate on drawing using gridlines. His Malay Cultural drawing is very nice to me.He should keep up the good work. The lines on his self-potrait is funny looking.Drawing a nice drawing takes time and alot of patience.Good luck in other drawings that you draw.bye!

(Self Critique)
Some qualities that make my drawing a success was the shading and drawing of ten malay culture which have to combine with my potrait it came out to be a successful drawing. In my opinion i have tried to be as creative as possible to make my drawing different from others. If i were to mark my own drawings i will give my self a mark of 6-7.When an opportunity were given to redo everything i would probably change alot of my drawing eg like that drawing of the ten malay culture which should be more lively after combining it with my self potrait.Eveb it have been combined with my self potrait people should notice that i have been inserting malay culture drawing in it too.

(Peer Critique)
Nurin's work.

In her drawing i saw that she uses some elements of art like lines, shape and texture. She have tried drawing herself covering with leaves, chapteh, flower and also wayang kulit. Her drawing have shown that she's making use of the malay culture as her background whereas her self potrait were at the side just shows her side view.I felt that by looking at her drawing making me feel happy and i think that her art work goes well due to her shading. She did try to used pop art on her self potrait and it look great. In my opinion her work was a success.Indeed she still need to shade her self potrait really more.Overall it pleased me.I enjoy looking at it

Dinah

Self critics of my drawing;
i tink that what ive drawn is not as good as i tink that the drawing that ive drawn are too common.
i need to try out new imaginative and creative ideas on how to stylize more on the drawings.
i think that what ive is not very well done as there are less malay culture examples and i think my colouring needed more pressure on it and shading too.
ive put in 3 drawing of my malay culture and that the sepak takraw ball[as the background],halal sign[in the middle] and a batik flower at he side.
i put my self potrait at the sides of the two ends and i draw my hair in diff colours.
this is beacuse i do not want the drawing to look exactly like me but mostly a cartoon of myself.
but basically, i think my drawing was okay. :DD

YANI'S DRAWING:
i) Describe what you see,
using elements of art (line, shape, form, texture and so forth) as your guide, describe what your peer drawn, what is the whole image about.
Yani's work drew a stylisation of her self-potrait. She large out her face to the front and she drew different shapes at the back making it unique.
ii) Analyse how the work is being presented,
using principles of design (emphasis, repetition, rhythm, depth and so forth), analyse what is the relationship of the subject matter and the background
.

Yani did some repetition in her drawing. She repeated the inner part of which is representative of her culture. There is some rhythm in how she random order. She represent her slef potrait making it seem as if the different shapes and drawings that she drew is representing her own culture. It would be good if she present some depth in her drawing like drawing the CHAP-TEH in a more wavy manner.
iii) Interpretate how the work make you feel and think,
-Describe the expressive qualities you find in the work. What expressive language would you use to describe the qualities (i.e., tragic, ugly, funny)?-Does the work remind you of other things you have experienced (i.e., analogy or metaphor)?-How does the work relate to other ideas or events in the world and/or in your other studies?
Yani's drawing seems happy as her face shows an expression of happiness. The pattern that she drew repeatedly on the gasing, chapteh and the sepak takraw ball shows that she is in a happy mood. By the way, i do not think there are any sadness towards this picture.
iv) Evaluate if this work is a success or a failure.
-What qualities of the work make you feel it is a success or failure?-Compare it with similar works that you think are good or bad.-How original is the work? Why do you feel this work is original or not original?
Yani's work is a success but at the same time it is not as the her drawings really needed more shading and depth to be done. This is to ensure that the picture that she actually drew needs to come alive.
And to make it more representable.
But overall,i like her drawing as it expresses her feelings towards my life as well.

Self Critique:

i) i think that its a failure
ii) i would give myself about 6 marks
iii) i would draw that it more neatly and try to add in more details

Peer Critique: (Farahin)

i) Farahin decorated her background with full of leaves and some other plants, I think it express her love for plants or gardening.
ii) Farahin did some repetition in her background. She did it with repeated patterns of the leaves, which showed her own malay culture. There is also some rhythm in her drawings by using the pattens of the culture of leaves.
iii) She express herself as a simple girl by making it simple by using the same pattern again and again. But I am amazed as she can express one type of pattern into different forms, like repetition for example.
iv) It's a tremendous success! I am so amazed! I love about how she used the same pattern and she can make it into different form and each of them expressed different aura.

Self Critique-

What qualities of the work make you feel it's a success or a failure?
I feel that my drawing is creative because when I draw my final layout, I actually halfed my face and put all the malay culture of the batik around my face so it'll look as if I am looking at the batik. I overall feel that my work is a success although I know there is some areas that I can still improved on.

Out of 10 marks, how many marks will you reward yourself?
Out of 10, I think I'll give myself a good 7. It's not perfect, yes, but I am eager to know what are the aspects I need to work on! (:

If given a chance to start all over again, what would you have done differently?
If given the chance to do it again, I'll probably try something different like making sure when I draw the cultures and my face, I would observe and see how and where to draw the structures and the lines found. I would also try and be even more patient with myself and give me ample time to draw the pictures carefully rather than just drawing it for the sake of drawing it. So, if I were to do it again, I'll try to do even better! :D

Peer Critique-
(Dinah's work)

Describe what you see, using elements of art (line, shape, form, texture and so forth) as your guide, describe what your peer drawn, what is the whole thing about.
I really liked Dinah's work. It's very unique in some way, because when she draw out her portrait, she adds in alot of detail. She draw 3 different sides of herself on a new sheet of paper and I get to see the different aspects of her drawing. When she draw her final design, it's very simple and I can see the story behind it. So overall, good job to her!

Analyse how the work is being presented,
using principles of design (emphasis, repetition, rhythm, depth and so forth), analyse what is the relationship of the subject matter and the background.

Dinah's work like I said is nicely decorated and very creative. For example she draw her face not exactly full, and there is a flow when she draw the cultures around her face and it looked really nice. Her face is also being stylize by adding in the tiles.

Interpretate how the work make you feel and think,
-Describe the expressive qualities you find in the work. What expressive language would you use to describe the qualities (i.e., tragic, ugly, funny)?-Does the work remind you of other things you have experienced (i.e., analogy or metaphor)?-How does the work relate to other ideas or events in the world and/or in your other studies?
In her drawing, everything seemed very simple and easy. She looked as if she is blown away by the aspects of the malay culture. Her picture reminds me of the real batik only there is her face printed on it. It has equal balance, meaning that there is not much malay culture drawing drawn on her final design which is a good thing if not there would be too much confusion and it would be hard to understand what she is trying to say in her drawing.

Evaluate if this work is a success or a failure.
-What qualities of the work make you feel it is a success or failure?-Compare it with similar works that you think are good or bad.-How original is the work? Why do you feel this work is original or not original?

I overall think that Dinah's work is very unique and of course very original as I feel it is a huge success. I am aware that she has put in a lot of effort to produce the final design, making sure it'll look very artistic. The qualities that make it a success is that she uses the different principle of designs and looked very creative. So, good job Dinah! :D
Xoxo,

(ii)hmm , 6 out of 10.
(i) the stylization is okae and theres effort put in. but its done quite bad too as it is not done fully . my background stylization is also not done yet . i did nt shade all the lines behind which make the drawing look so not completed .
(iii)if i had the chance , i would make it much much more nicer and much more creative. i will make use of all th space left to draw more picture too. i will try to finish up my work on time and make th drawing more nicer . (:
Peer critique
I will comment on my friend,JI YOON .

Describe what you see, using elements of art (line, shape, form, texture and so forth) as your guide, describe what your peer drawn, what is the whole thing about.
- ji yoon self potrait make use of alot of lines and shapes . i can see th shape of a puzzle which forms up her self potrait. i find this drawing cool . she also included some random designs as her background to cover up all the space left . my peer has drawn her self-potarit and stylize it creatively . she had made her face into a jigsaw puzzle tht has been solved .

Analyse how the work is being presented, using principles of design (emphasis, repetition, rhythm, depth and so forth), analyse what is the relationship of the subject matter and the background.
- ji yoon make use of repetition . she repeated the jigsaw puzzle on her face . i think there's some rythm at her background drawings . i think the background is just random drawing so that her potrait wont look so plain . i find this drawing creative too .

iii) Interpretate how the work make you feel and think,-Describe the expressive qualities you find in the work. What expressive language would you use to describe the qualities (i.e., tragic, ugly, funny)?-Does the work remind you of other things you have experienced (i.e., analogy or metaphor)?-How does the work relate to other ideas or events in the world and/or in your other studies?
- i think that her drawing is happy as her face shows a happy smile . the way she draw a background also seems to show that she is happy and not in a sad or bad mood. her drawing also remind me of their cultures and shows some teamwork . by seeing at her drawing, i can know about what her culture is like .

iv) Evaluate if this work is a success or a failure.-What qualities of the work make you feel it is a success or failure?-Compare it with similar works that you think are good or bad.-How original is the work? Why do you feel this work is original or not original?
- i think her work is a success but at the same time it is not too . her potrait is nice but her other drawing really need more pictures to cover up all th space and she should at least shade more so that the picture will look more interesting and lively . i think her work is original as she's th only one who make use of jigsaw puzzle to draw her face . overall i think her drawing is nice and i like it . (:

self critique:I think it is a failure .the stylisation of my do look like me but using effort to draw,i think i am proud of myself.i uses cubise to stylies my portriat as it is quite easy to draw and it only involve straight lines.I choose front portriat as it has all my face feature and it is qite a challenge.^^
(ii)Out of 10 marks, i will give myself 5 marks.
(iii)If i have a chance to draw diffently,i will now draw again.
Peer critique to Germaine:She drew a stylies of herself that a picture is burning away as it is like flame of her.
(ii)She has did repetittion as the flower is repeated. It would be good if she present some depth in her drawing like drawing some flowers from big to small.
(iii) The flower are blooming and yet she is melting away. This word seem to create a mix feeling of sadness and happiness. Like life, there's always sadness and happiness.
